Who owns pharmacyscore.co.uk?
A price-comparison site that describes itself as independent and states it is not a pharmacy has its domain owned by a company whose registered business is dispensing chemist. This page records what the public filings show, and nothing beyond them.
In a letter dated 16 August 2026, EA Pharma Ltd confirmed in writing that it owns the domain name pharmacyscore.co.uk. EA Pharma Ltd is registered at Companies House (12703754) with its nature of business recorded as dispensing chemist in specialised stores. Companies House lists at least six companies sharing the EA Pharma name. Pharmacy Score has no connection to any of them.
The domain owner.
EA Pharma Ltd issued a letter on 16 August 2026 stating that it "is the owner of the domain name pharmacyscore.co.uk and that the domain is held for and on behalf of EA Pharma Ltd". We hold a copy. The letter records the company as incorporated in England and Wales on 29 June 2020, status Active, registered office 23a Gowthorpe, Selby, YO8 4HE, nature of business "Dispensing chemist in specialised stores (SIC 47730)". Those details match the public Companies House record.
Owning a domain and running the editorial operation of a website are not automatically the same thing, and we make no claim about who writes or manages that site day to day. What is on the record is the domain ownership.

How that site is funded.
That site is a commercial platform funded by paid subscriptions sold to pharmacies. Its published feature list for paying subscribers includes, in its own words, a "Subscriber badge with a sponsored profile link". In other words, a pharmacy that pays is featured on its public profile in a way a pharmacy that does not pay is not.
It also states that a subscription "never changes public ranking, evidence scores, claim decisions or editorial approval", that the neutral default sort is pharmacy A to Z, and that a public profile, a verified claim request and source-backed correction submissions remain free without a subscription.
Taking those statements together: on its own published terms, ranking position is not for sale, but paid featuring on a public profile is. What weight to give that is a matter for the reader.
Pharmacy Score sells nothing to anyone. There is no subscription, badge, sponsored link, advertising or paid feature of any kind, and no pharmacy can pay us for anything. About this site →
How a structure like this works, legally.
A group of similarly named limited companies is an ordinary and entirely lawful way to run a multi-site business. It is worth understanding what it does and does not mean.
- Each company is its own legal person. A limited company is separate from its owners and from its sister companies. It holds its own contracts, its own debts and its own liabilities, and it files its own accounts and confirmation statements.
- Liability is ring-fenced. If one company in a group runs into difficulty, that ordinarily does not extend to the others. This is one of the main reasons multi-site operators use a company per site or per function rather than one large company.
- Trading and property are often separated. A company named "Asset" in a group of this shape typically holds property or other assets, which are then made available to the trading companies. This is a standard financing and risk-management arrangement, not a concealment device.
- Common ownership is visible on the register. Companies House publishes directors and persons with significant control for every company. Anyone can follow those records to see how a group fits together. We do not reproduce individuals' names here; the company records are public if you wish to look.
What a registered charge actually is.
Because the charge filings are linked above, it is worth being clear about what they show, so nobody reads more into them than is there.
A registered charge is security given to a lender. When a company borrows, the lender commonly takes a charge over property or assets so it has recourse if the loan is not repaid. The charge is then registered at Companies House so that other creditors can see it. It is a routine feature of ordinary commercial borrowing, and most trading companies that have ever taken a bank facility have one.
In this case, every charge registered against all six companies is in favour of Lloyds Bank PLC, and the descriptions reference pharmacy premises. On the public record this is conventional high-street bank lending secured against business property.
They are linked here because they form part of the public record showing how the companies relate to one another.
Why we record this.
When you compare pharmacies, who is doing the comparing matters. A comparison run by a company that also dispenses medicines has a different set of interests from one that does not, whether or not that ever affects a single published figure.
That is the whole point of recording this, and it applies to us just as much. Pharmacy Score is not a pharmacy, owns no pharmacies, holds no stake in any pharmacy it lists, and takes no money from any of them. We are a free community project with no advertising, affiliate links, paid placements or subscriptions. You should hold any comparison site to that same question, including this one. Corrections.
Everything on this page is taken from the public Companies House register, from that site's own published pages, or from the letter issued by EA Pharma Ltd on 16 August 2026. We do not name individuals and we do not link to that site. If any of it is factually inaccurate, tell us through our corrections process and we will correct it promptly and record that we have.
