Weight-loss plateau on Mounjaro or Wegovy: what to do.
Almost everyone stalls eventually. What a plateau usually means, and what the sensible moves are.

The first months on a GLP-1 often bring steady weekly losses, then the line flattens. It's normal, it's physiological, and it isn't proof the medicine has stopped working.
Why it happens
A lighter body needs fewer calories, so the same intake that caused loss now maintains. Appetite can also edge back as your body adapts to the dose.
The sensible moves
- Give it three to four weeks before judging: plateaus break on their own more often than not.
- Review the basics: protein, fibre, steps, sleep. Boring, but the trial results were achieved alongside these.
- Talk to your prescriber about dose: if you're below the maintenance dose, a step up is a clinical option. It's their call, never a DIY one.
What not to do: double doses, skip meals into dizziness, or order a higher strength you haven't been prescribed because it was cheaper. Price should never pick your dose, how the dose ladders work.
